Bengal Badminton Academy (BBA) on Sunday felicitated badminton player Vijay Lancy for his outstanding contribution to Indian Badminton at Bengal Rowing Club here.Vijay Lancy had been a Professional Badminton player having represented the country in Badminton for Prestigious Thomas Cup at Prague and World Jr. Championships in Jakarta. He was under 22 National Champion and Gold Medalist in the 4th National Games held at Bangalore in 1997 .
Mrs. Deepa Chatterjee (Former Badminton Player), Dileep Singh Mehta, Binod Kumar,IAS, Subrata Gupta, IAS were also present on the occasion.
A badminton coaching clinic was also conducted by BBA in the presence of Lancy, who shared valuable instructions to the upcoming players about the finer aspects of the game.
A total of 25 shuttlers from Bengal, including Sandipan Banerjee, Shouvik Ghosh, Rajdeep Mitra, Esha Ghosh, Saptarshi Ghosal, were present at the event.
